Transfer Your Prescription to TRx Pharmacy in Cape Coral

Switching pharmacies takes one short phone call to us — about 3 minutes. We handle everything, including calling your old pharmacy. No paperwork. No lines. No hassle. Just one call to (239) 677-4945 and you’re done.

Why families in Cape Coral switch to TRx

Most Cape Coral residents who switch to TRx Pharmacy tell us the same thing: I should have done this years ago. Whether you’re tired of waiting 45 minutes at a chain drive-thru, frustrated with rotating staff who don’t know your name, or just want a pharmacist who actually has time to talk through your medications — transferring is the easiest pharmacy decision you’ll ever make. Family-owned since 2016, we’ve helped thousands of neighbors across 33990, 33991, 33904, 33914, and 33993 make the switch.

Three things that make us different

What we need to start your transfer

Just three things when you call to transfer: (1) your full name and date of birth, (2) your old pharmacy’s name and city, and (3) a list of the medications you’d like moved (or just say “all of them” — we’ll get the list directly from your old pharmacy). If you have your insurance card, even better — but it’s not required to start the transfer.

Frequently asked questions

Quick answers to the questions our team hears most often when someone is considering switching from CVS, Walgreens, Publix, or another chain in Cape Coral.

Most transfers are complete within a few hours of your call to us. The actual paperwork — done pharmacist-to-pharmacist — usually takes only 5 to 15 minutes once we reach your old pharmacy. We text you as soon as your prescriptions are ready, typically the same day. Controlled substances may take a little longer because of additional federal rules, but we handle those too.

No. That’s the part most people dread, and it’s the part we take off your plate. Once you give us the old pharmacy’s name and city, we handle the call. You don’t have to explain, apologize, or sit through any retention pitch — and we never share why you’re switching.

Yes — we accept Medicare Part D, Medicaid, Tricare, Florida Blue, Cigna, Express Scripts, CVS Caremark, OptumRx, Humana, United Healthcare, and most other major plans. We run your insurance the same way the chains do, and your copay will typically be identical. If we ever find a cash price lower than your copay, we’ll show you both so you can choose the cheaper option.

Yes, with one caveat: federal law allows controlled substance transfers, but Schedule II medications (Adderall, Ritalin, oxycodone, etc.) can only be transferred once during their valid period, and the prescription must have remaining refills or fill quantity. Schedule III–V controls (Xanax, Ambien, etc.) transfer more freely. Call us and we’ll walk you through exactly what’s possible with your specific prescription.

Bring them all to us. Many of our patients arrive with bottles from three or four different chains. We consolidate everything into one pharmacy profile so you have a single team that sees your complete medication picture — which dramatically reduces the chance of a dangerous drug interaction or duplicate prescription.

Never. Transfers are completely free. We don’t charge to call your old pharmacy, fill your first prescription, or set you up in our system. Many chains will offer a one-time $10 gift card to try to keep you — but most Cape Coral residents who’ve switched tell us the daily experience at TRx is worth far more than any one-time bribe.

No. Your remaining refills move with your prescription. If your old pharmacy has it on file that you have 3 refills left, we’ll have 3 refills left in our system after the transfer is complete. Nothing is lost.

Yes — and most of our transferred patients switch to free same-day delivery within their first month. Once you’re in our system, you can call (239) 677-4945 to request delivery, text us, or even set up recurring auto-fill with delivery so refills just show up at your door.
