Senior Pharmacy Care in Cape Coral

TRx Pharmacy specializes in senior care: medication reviews, blister-pack pill organization, free same-day delivery, and a pharmacist who actually has time to sit down with you. Cape Coral has one of the largest 65+ populations in Florida — we built TRx around that. Call us at (239) 677-4945.

Built for the 65+ community in Cape Coral

Managing five, ten, or fifteen medications gets overwhelming. Doses overlap. Bottles look identical. Refills run out at different times. New prescriptions get added by specialists who don’t always talk to your primary care doctor. That’s where an independent pharmacy with a senior-care focus changes everything. We organize, simplify, deliver, and — most importantly — review. Our pharmacist looks at your full list every quarter and flags interactions, duplications, and cheaper alternatives before they become problems. This is the standard of pharmacy care your parents grew up with, brought back for the 21st century in 33990, 33991, 33904, 33914, and 33993.

Three things that make us different

Polypharmacy reviews — quietly saving lives in Cape Coral

We also work directly with several Cape Coral cardiologists, neurologists, and geriatricians to catch polypharmacy — the dangerous accumulation of medications that often leads to falls, confusion, and emergency-room visits in seniors. If you (or a loved one) are on five or more daily medications, please ask us for a free polypharmacy review. It’s the single most valuable 20 minutes you can spend with a pharmacist.

Frequently asked questions

The questions we hear most often from seniors, their adult children, and caregivers in Cape Coral.

Yes — and we make this very easy. We keep an authorized-pickup list on every senior patient’s profile. Just tell us once which family members or caregivers are allowed to pick up on your behalf and we’ll keep that on file. They can pick up at the counter, by drive-up, or call us to arrange delivery. For controlled substances, the authorized person will need to show ID the first time, but after that it’s seamless.

A blister pack is a weekly card with 28 individual sealed compartments — one for each dose, organized by Monday-through-Sunday and morning/noon/evening/bedtime. You push the foil to pop out exactly one dose. No pill bottles to fumble with, no caps to twist. We provide blister packing free with your regular fills — there’s no extra charge, no setup fee, and we re-pack every refill. Most patients (or their adult children) say this single service is the reason they switched to TRx.

Yes — and for our regular senior patients we do it free, even when your Medicare plan isn’t paying for it. MTM is a structured pharmacist review of your complete medication list. We check for drug-drug interactions, drug-disease conflicts, duplications, missing labs (e.g., is your kidney function being monitored on metformin?), and lower-cost alternatives. We document everything and send a summary to your primary care doctor with your permission. Most reviews take 20–30 minutes.

Yes. We partner with several assisted living facilities in 33990, 33914, and 33993 — we deliver direct to the med-pass nurse, provide blister packs to their specifications, and handle facility-level prior-auth paperwork. For seniors aging in place with a home health nurse, we coordinate refill timing so the nurse always has what they need on visit day.

Always — and this is one of the things we’re proudest of. We’re enrolled in nearly every Medicare Part D plan, so your copays are protected. For medications that fall in the Part D donut hole, we look for cash-pay programs that beat your copay (GoodRx, SingleCare, WellRx) and we help apply for manufacturer Patient Assistance Programs for expensive brand-name medications — programs that can supply many brand drugs free for those who qualify.

Bring us your complete medication list during the Annual Open Enrollment Period (October 15 – December 7). We’ll run free side-by-side comparisons of how each available Part D plan would cost for your specific medications. Most patients save $300 – $1,200 per year by switching to the plan that actually matches their drug list, rather than the plan that looked best on paper or got marketed to them.

Beyond blister packs (which solve most of it), we can also set up free text or phone reminders for each dose time. For patients with significant memory issues, we coordinate with family members or home health to do a daily pill check-in. And if you ever miss a dose and aren’t sure what to do, you can call us 7 days a week at (239) 677-4945 and a pharmacist will walk you through it — that’s not a chain-pharmacy service.

Yes — under Medicare Part B and Part D, the shingles vaccine (Shingrix), pneumococcal vaccines (Prevnar 20, Pneumovax), and annual flu shot are covered with no copay for most beneficiaries. We administer all three at TRx without an appointment. The RSV vaccine, COVID boosters, and tetanus boosters are also available — call us first if you’re not sure whether yours is covered.

Let us take pharmacy off your plate.
